Website creation, logo design and podcast asset design

Here’s the story

The Full Stop is a CIC (Community Interest Company) that has a monthly podcast, established in May 2019) and an online community created in June 2023.

What Hello Lovely did

The old images were created at speed (the founders were not expecting to be podcasting over 5 years!) and required updates to comply with online accessibility.

The brief was to create a modern, welcoming digital presence that would appeal to all genders as the community and podcast is a diverse and worldwide space. The podcast is listened to in 80 countries with members in the community from 11 countries covering different cultures, sexuality, race, religion and their reasons for being childless not by choice are many. Podcast guests have included Dr Stella Duffy OBE, journalist Bibi Lynch and author Jessica Hepburn.

A key part of the brand is that the name does not include childless. The branding invites people into the conversation instead of creating barriers through language or content.

The directors have a business plan and statements on diversity to comply with legal requirements for the CIC. These were included in the brief alongside a short list of other podcasts whose look and feel was inspirational.

From this, 11 sketches were created and distilled to 3 for consideration and worked into one design that included type, adjusted in Illustrator, to create connections which is a core theme of the Full Stop.

The branding was worked into templates and developed to fit these criteria:

  • Align with the new vision to better enable software and social media developments.

  • Look modern, welcoming and refreshing and show connections and alliances in the choice of fonts and colours.

  • Adaptable for merchandise.

  • To be accessible and digital friendly and reflect the inclusive values of the Full Stop.

  • To be used in campaigns for print (for example, in workplaces and in partnership with other bodies such as International Men’s Day), for applications for funding and online on the website and at exhibitions.

The podcast covers reflect the range of guests and the episode presentation. Whilst the listeners like to see guest photos, some of the guests prefer not to share their image to protect their privacy. There is a consistent design across the podcast covers that reflects the design.

Software: Squarespace, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
