website design

Dr Rachel Tilitson from The University of Gloucestershire contacted me with a request to grow the Squarespace website she had started with more content and an improved design.

You were so very easy and pleasant to work with. I found the whole experience working with you very enjoyable and the videos you made were an excellent way for me to gain an insight into what you were thinking and planning for the website. I would recommend you.

What Hello Lovely did

Her research programme covers three stages over several months and required integration with Squarespace’s forms and Tally to allow legal signatures.

The site was on a limited budget which meant that it was cost-effective to use Squarespace’s forms as these are freely available in the platform. Some of the work requires an online signature which Squarespace doesn't support which meant some of the forms required Tally.

This could be complicated for the user. A critical part of the website design was to work out how best to order this route so that the user could get to the research questionnaire and find all the research information.

I plotted this out on Figma and shared the map with Rachel which was the best way to communicate so that I could create the forms correctly. I also made use of Squarespace’s accordion feature to create a series of steps and we kept the language clear so that the user knew when to complete or read a link.

Lastly I added in pages and graphics for the next areas of research so that Rachel can grow the website. Each step was accompanied by bespoke videos to help my client understand why I was making these decisions. Rachel also created her own logo and this was added to the website site header.

The website went live in April 2024 and Rachel is collecting up her responses to the first area of research with the second ready to launch at the end of the month.
